Grounds Manager - Athens Campus

Work Summary:

The Grounds Manager will work under the supervision and direction of the Facilities Manager to maintain all Campus Grounds in good working order. They will be primarily responsible for the maintenance and landscaping of outdoor areas and facilities.

Job Activities:

1. Responsible as the primary groundskeeper.
   
2. Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of zero-turn radius mower, weed-eater, backpack blower, hedge-trimmer and edger.
   
3. Responsible for making sure flower beds and shrubs are free of weeds.
   
4. Assisting the Facilities Manager in working on Campus Infrastructure.
   
5. Ability to paint and perform minor repairs to sheetrock.
   
6. Occasionally clean as needed if/when Janitorial Staff are unable.
   
7. Must be able to safely operate church equipment including Kawasaki Mule, Sky-Jack, “Zamboni”.
   
8. Assist in set up and tear down for all campus events including Freedom Fest, conferences, Serve Day, etc.
   
9. Perform any duties as assigned by the Campus Experience Director.
   
10. As new grounds staff is hired, will be responsible for training and ensuring performance quality.
    
11. Perform minor plumbing to repair sprinkler systems.
    
12. Assist the Facilities Manager with minor maintenance tasks as necessary.
13. Operate and schedule the sprinkler control system for all Life Fellowship Athens Campus sprinklers. 
14. Communicate with a landscaping company regarding seasonal changes in flower beds.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Understand Life Fellowship’s vision, purpose and direction.
• Fulfill the character qualifications as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Demonstrate skill in landscaping and groundskeeping.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb high ladders safely.
• Able to stand for several hours.

• Worship in one service each weekend
• Serve in one service each weekend
• Daily, growing personal relationship with the Lord
• 30-35 hour workweek – potential to become full-time
• Pays $15.00 per hour
