The Security Operations Manager leads the Security Construction Operations Department and is responsible for the overall performance of the company’s electronic security operations, including project installation, system commissioning, service support, staffing, scheduling, customer satisfaction, safety, and financial results. This position leads the teams responsible for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and related integrated security systems.

The ideal candidate is an experienced operations leader who can effectively coordinate people, materials, subcontractors, and technical resources while ensuring projects and service work are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company and industry quality standards.

The Security Operations Manager also serves as a liaison between Construction Operations and other ATS groups and departments, including senior management.

Responsibilities

  1. →Provide leadership and vision for the Security Construction Operations group, which may include GOMs (Group Operations Managers), GOSs (Group Operations Supervisors), PMs (Project Managers), engineers, technicians, and support staff. Lead the team in successfully executing security installations across the business sector while supporting the growth and development of individual ATS team members.
  2. → Implement and lead the company’s Vision, Values, and Strategies.
  3. →Provide leadership in the recruitment and retention of Operations team members.
  4. →Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable safety requirements.
  5. →Manage the monthly project re-estimate process.
  6. →Oversee security system design and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  7. →Manage the startup and commissioning process for Building Security Systems.
  8. →Manage the as-built drawing and documentation process.
  9. →Manage the owner training process.
  10. →Maintain overall financial responsibility for project execution and ensure projects are completed within budget.
  11. →Assist with collections and ATS project receivables.
  12. →Manage labor planning for the department and coordinate support across other ATS groups as needed.
  13. →Conduct performance appraisals and quarterly goal reviews with direct reports.
  14. →Manage mentoring, training, and development plans for direct reports.
  15. →Support sales personnel with operational planning, technical input, customer meetings, and project pursuits.
  16. →Collaborate with IT personnel and customers to address networking, cybersecurity, remote access, and system integration requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Experience managing technicians, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of electronics and basic electrical circuits.
  • Knowledge of physical security systems, including access control, video management systems (VMS), and intrusion detection applications.
  • Ability to interpret contracts, specifications, construction drawings, submittals, and project schedules.
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.
  • Working knowledge of programming concepts and applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Engineering undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of industry experience
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Building Physical Security System experience
  • Experience of direct responsibility for managing and meeting financial targets or budgets
  • Relevant industry and/or manufacturer certifications is a plus
