The Pharmacy Courier plays a vital role in ensuring the timely delivery of packaged prescriptions from Augusta Health’s Outpatient Pharmacy to the patient’s home or residence. Responsibilities may also include transporting prescriptions across the campus, assisting with customer checkout at the Outpatient Pharmacy or at curbside, and handling various administrative tasks. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and willing to drive a company vehicle.
High School Diploma or equivalent
None. Previous customer service and knowledge of Augusta County roadways preferred.

- Reasoning ability and good independent judgement
- Delivers packaged medications and supplies from the Outpatient Pharmacy to patient homes and various locations both on and off campus. Destinations may include curbside pickup, hospital bedside deliveries, and other departments or clinics.
- Maintains proper medication storage as instructed by a pharmacist during transport and communicates storage instructions to the patient or caregiver upon delivery.
- Processes monetary transactions quickly and accurately.
- Provides positive, respectful, and compassionate customer service; adapts communication style to the needs of the customer or patient.
- Shows respect of patients’ homes and surrounding property, including driveways and walkways.
- Operates the company owned vehicle safely; Keeps vehicle clean, refueled, and well maintained.
- Reports all vehicle concerns immediately to supervisor or pharmacist on duty.
- Maintains accurate documentation of delivery records including written and electronic signatures, delivery logs, and digital files.
- Completes various clerical and administrative tasks assigned by department leadership.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings and maintains engagement in department process improvement initiatives.
- Perform all tasks in a manner that promotes teamwork and exceptional patient care.
