HGV Mechanic

Aureol Global Connections is looking for a skilled and experienced HGV Mechanic to inspect, service, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure they are safe, reliable, and roadworthy. The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, and ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and relevant health and safety regulations.

• → Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on HGVs and trailers.
• → Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic faults.
• → Perform engine, transmission, clutch, brake, suspension, steering, and exhaust repairs.
• → Conduct vehicle diagnostics using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment.
• → Inspect vehicles to ensure compliance with roadworthiness and safety standards.
• → Prepare vehicles for statutory inspections (e.g., MOT or equivalent).
• → Replace defective parts and components using approved repair methods.
• → Complete scheduled maintenance according to service intervals.
• → Carry out emergency breakdown repairs as required.
• → Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and inspection reports.
• → Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales while maintaining high-quality standards.
• → Keep the workshop clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
• → Follow company policies and manufacturer guidelines at all times.
• → Assist with mentoring apprentices or junior technicians when required.
