Responsibilities
~1 min read- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll
- Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting processes
- Oversee reconciliation of high-volume payment flows and trust account disbursements
- Ensure precise matching of incoming funds, processor settlements, and merchant payouts
- Serve as a critical control point for transaction accuracy and financial integrity
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to leadership
- Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer to strengthen internal controls and fraud prevention measures
- Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, SOC 2 standards, and applicable regulations
- Manage cash concentration and movement from trust accounts
- Oversee forecasting and liquidity planning to support operational needs
- Act as liaison with external tax partners to ensure timely and accurate filings
- Analyze program and campaign performance, including yield and profitability
- Support annual budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning
- Provide insights that guide growth and operational decision-making
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
- Build a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA, CMA, or CCM strongly preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 4+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Experience in fintech, payment processing, or high-volume transaction environments strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
- SQL or data querying experience is a plus
- Strong command of GAAP
- Familiarity with tax considerations including Section 179
- Analytical Rigor: Ability to interpret complex transaction data, identify discrepancies, and validate automated outputs
- Attention to Detail: Precision in reviewing financial records and transaction flows
- Leadership: Proven ability to develop and elevate a team
- Communication: Able to translate complex financial concepts into clear business insights
