Senior AI / ML Engineer

Awetomaton is seeking a Senior AI / ML Engineer to grow our first onsite presence with existing customers in Beavercreek, OH. In this role you will use your OPIR domain expertise to identify salient features for development of new AI/ML models. You will use Python and appropriate AI/ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.) to develop and mature R&D exploitation capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a MS degree or higher in AI / ML field with 10-15 years of professional experience.

This position will be performed largely onsite in Beavcreek, OH. Active DoD Top Secret security clearance required. We are looking for a candidate to start in the May 2026 timeframe. Application deadline of April 30, 2026.

• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with peers & decision makers
• Demonstrate initiative when faced with limited guidance or ambiguous requirements
• AI/ML expertise in Python
• Expertise in OPIR image processing and data exploitation

• Master of Science in AI/ML scientific discipline
• Ten (10) years of minimum experience developing AI/ML algorithms for object identification / classification
• Ten (10) years of experience creating AI/ML solutions in Python (e.g. PyTorch, Tensor Flow)
• Five (5) years of minimum experience with Container Technology (Docker / podman / etc.)
• Mastery of software configuration management using Git.

• Doctor of Philosophy in AI/ML scientific discipline
• Five (5) years of minimum experience in OPIR among of a mix of processing, exploitation, and analysis algorithm development
• Five (5) years of PyTorch expertise
• Expertise developing modular, reusable software via strong Object-Oriented Software development practices
• Experience following GitFlow and GitOps workflows using team repository (GitHub / Gitlab / etc.)
