We’re looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the Pan-Alliance Commissioning team working in the @one Alliance and SPA. This role offers the chance to work on a vast variety of clean water and water recycling projects, helping ensure assets are tested, optimised, and ready for operation before handover.

Responsibilities
~1 min readWorking within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll play a key role in commissioning activities across a broad range of projects. With a focus on safety, quality, and performance, you’ll help ensure that new assets function as intended and deliver long-term value for our customers and the environment.
· Supporting the planning and execution of commissioning activities on site
· Collaborating with design, delivery, and operational teams to ensure successful project outcomes
· Assisting in site inspections, testing, and performance verification of new assets
· Producing and maintaining commissioning documentation, including method statements and risk assessments
· Helping to resolve technical issues and optimise performance
· Participating in site acceptance testing and early engagement with equipment suppliers
· Feeding into continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned processes
About You
You’re a hands-on engineer with a collaborative mindset and a passion for technical delivery. You’re comfortable working in dynamic site environments and are eager to learn from experienced colleagues while contributing your own expertise.
· An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (HNC Desirable)
· Some relevant experience in commissioning, operations, or maintenance (preferably within the water or utilities sector)
· A good understanding of process control, instrumentation, or M&E systems
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to sites within 1.5 hours of the advertised location.
· A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a willingness to learn and adapt
