~1 min readWater and our natural environment are the foundation of life, society and economies. As part of Anglian Water’s ambitious capital investment programme, the @one Alliance is delivering new and upgraded water and water recycling assets that will help provide resilient water supplies, support sustainable growth and protect the environment for generations to come.
At @one Alliance, we bring together industry-leading partners to deliver complex engineering projects and innovative solutions. Alongside the physical assets we build, we also ensure the delivery of high-quality digital asset information that supports effective asset management throughout the lifecycle of our infrastructure.
If you're passionate about data, engineering and making a real impact through digital transformation, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Master Data Specialist you will play a vital role in ensuring that accurate, high-quality asset data is delivered alongside our capital projects, enabling the safe, efficient and reliable operation of critical infrastructure assets.
You'll lead asset data management activities across a portfolio of projects, working closely with engineers, project teams, suppliers and business stakeholders to ensure new, modified and decommissioned assets are correctly represented within Anglian Water’s asset register.
You'll review and interpret engineering information from a variety of sources, including 3D models, process flow diagrams, P&IDs and equipment schedules, ensuring all asset data meets business standards and requirements. You will oversee the collation, validation and upload of asset information into SAP PM, coordinating delivery against project milestones and ensuring compliance with asset data and maintenance standards.
Working as a key link between engineering, digital and operational teams, you'll provide insight and reporting on asset data performance, identify risks and opportunities, and help drive improvements across data management processes. You'll champion asset data quality and governance, ensuring standards are consistently applied across projects and suppliers.
This role will also give you the opportunity to support innovation across the Alliance, helping to automate workflows, improve reporting capabilities and enhance the way asset information is managed. You'll contribute to the development of new tools, processes and business intelligence solutions that improve efficiency, visibility and decision-making.
Through your expertise, you'll help ensure that the valuable assets delivered through our capital programmes are supported by equally valuable digital information.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with data, systems and engineering information and thrives on building relationships across a wide range of teams and stakeholders.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience managing engineering or asset data within a technical, utilities, infrastructure or capital delivery environment
- Experience working with SAP PM, asset management systems or enterprise asset registers
- The ability to interpret engineering documentation, including drawings, schedules, P&IDs and asset hierarchies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience producing reports, analysing data and identifying trends and improvement opportunities
- Experience in automating processes using ETL tools to streamline workflows
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
- Experience driving improvements in data quality, governance and process efficiency
- A proactive approach and confidence in challenging and improving existing ways of working
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with digital engineering, BIM, asset information management or business intelligence reporting would be advantageous
You’ll be someone who is naturally curious, embraces innovation and enjoys finding smarter ways of working while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
