AirX Jet Support is a UK CAA and EASA approved Maintenance Repair Organisation with approval to provide Line & Base Maintenance services on our parent company fleet of CL-600, EMB-135 and ERJ-190 series aircraft. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are recruiting for a Stores Controller to join our team.
The Stores Controller is responsible for ensuring the receipt, handling and issuing of aircraft parts, tooling and materials to support safe, compliant, efficient and high-quality aircraft maintenance operations. The Stores Controller works closely with the Production and Technical Support departments to optimise maintenance readiness, cost efficiency and ensure aircraft on-time delivery.
This role reports to the Operations Support Manager and is based at the London Stansted Diamond Hangar facility working a 5-5-4 rotating shift pattern.
Responsibilities and Duties
Receiving & Inspection
•Receive all incoming aircraft parts, tooling and materials in accordance with company MOE and regulatory requirements.
•Verify shipments against purchase orders and ensure documentation is present and accurate (e.g. C of C, EASA Form 1).
•Conduct visual inspection of packaging and parts for damage, corrosion, shelf-life expired or other discrepancies.
•Reject and quarantine non-conforming items and process discrepancy reports when required.
Stores & Inventory
•Store parts, tooling and materials in designated and controlled areas ensuring adherence to company MOE and regulatory requirements.
•Maintain proper segregation between serviceable, unserviceable, quarantine and dangerous goods.
•Label, tag and barcode items as applicable to ensure full traceability.
•Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counts, shelf-life monitoring and inventory audits.
•Ensure bonded, hazardous and temperature-sensitive work areas are controlled in accordance with company MOE and regulatory requirements.
Issuing & Dispatch
•Issue parts, tooling and materials to maintenance personnel against work orders or task cards.
•Ensure correct recording of serial numbers, quantities and traceability data.
•Prepare parts for shipment to vendors, overhaul shops or other stations with correct packaging and paperwork.
•Coordinate with logistics partners for local and international shipments.
Tooling & Equipment
•Control calibration, serviceability and tracking of tooling and ground support equipment.
•Ensure all calibrated tools have valid certificates and are logged in the tracking system.
•Quarantine defective or expired tools and initiate replacement or recalibration processes.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
•Ensure departmental processes are followed and comply with company MOE and regulatory requirements.
•Archive delivery notes, certificates, material traceability and shipping records.
•Support the Compliance Monitoring department with customer, internal and regulatory audits and corrective actions when required.
•Assist in department cost control, budget forecasting and performance reporting.
•Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste and improve turnaround times.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
Required Experience
•Previous experience in Part 145 MRO environment, preferably within a Stores or Logistics function.
•Strong understanding of aircraft parts, documentation requirements, certification standards and import/export regulations.
•Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment.
•Experience with MRO user systems (e.g. AMOS, Traxall, Veryon).
•Flexible worker who is prepared to adjust working hours to meet operational demands.
•Be a team player who will grasp opportunities to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.
•Proficiency in using Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to learn in house systems.
•Effective problem solver with a solution focused mindset.
Required Qualifications
•Dangerous Goods Awareness qualification (desirable).
•Manual Handling qualification (desirable)
•Counterbalance Forklift qualification (desirable).
Additional Requirements
•Candidates must have legal authorisation and the right to work in the UK.
•Full clean UK driving licence.
•Ability to obtain security clearance and hold an airside ID pass.
