If you are looking for a highly structured, predictable HR role where you simply maintain someone else's legacy policies, this is not the job for you.

Our client is a rapidly expanding scale-up in the telecommunications sector. To put it bluntly: they are building the plane while flying it. The headcount is growing fast, and the infrastructure needs to catch up. For a seasoned HR professional, this is the ultimate clean slate to build something meaningful.

  • True Autonomy: You will not just be pushing paper. You are being brought in to design, implement, and own the HR structure, processes, and policies from scratch.
  • A Real Seat at the Table: Reporting directly to the COO, your voice will carry weight. You will have the mandate to ensure HR is a core driver of business strategy, not an afterthought.
  • Massive Career Runway: This business is part of a larger ecosystem. Prove your worth here, and there is a path for this role to evolve into a group-wide position managing HR across all companies in the broader group.
  • An Energetic Environment: You will be partnering with a young, driven team with an average age in their 30s.

This is a scale-up, which means ambiguity is part of the package. To truly understand the business, the people, and the gaps, you need to be visible. While the business offers a hybrid model on paper, you should realistically expect to be on-site 4 to 5 days a week initially. If you need a fully remote gig or rigid corporate guidelines to function, you will struggle here.

  • Unflappable: When things get chaotic, you are the calmest person in the room. You handle scaling pains with logic, not emotion.
  • Approachable: You have time for people, regardless of their level in the business. You are as comfortable chatting with ground-level staff as you are pitching to executives.
  • A Builder: You have a proven track record of coming into unstructured environments and putting down the operational guardrails that allow a company to scale safely.
  • Remuneration: Up to R60,000 per month.
  • Location: Hybrid arrangement (with the practical expectation of being on-site 4 to 5 days a week during the initial integration and stabilisation phase).
