Product Manager - Data (12 month contract)

We are looking for a Senior to Lead level Product Manager for a 12-month contract, working with a leading South African tech consultancy to look after a core data product.

• Premium contract rate: This role offers up to R800 per hour, directly reflecting the senior ownership and technical knowledge required.
• 100% remote flexibility: You can work from anywhere in South Africa. There are no office commutes or traffic, just pure product delivery.
• True product ownership: You will take charge of the Data Refinery product, steering the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of a critical data asset.
• International exposure: This role faces a UK-based customer, giving you direct experience managing stakeholders and product requirements in a major global market.
• A stable 12-month runway: A year-long contract gives you the time to actually execute a strategy and see the results of your work, without the stress of short-term extensions.

You will own the lifecycle of the Data Refinery product. This involves collaborating closely with data engineers and architects to understand data needs, define user stories, prioritise the backlog, and ensure the platform delivers clean data infrastructure. Because the customer is in the UK, you will be the core link translating their business requirements into technical execution.

• Proven experience as a Product Manager at a Senior or Lead level, specifically managing data platforms, data pipelines, or analytics products.
• Practical experience working within Snowflake and Databricks environments is essential to find your feet quickly here.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to confidently manage relationships with overseas clients.
• You must be physically located in South Africa to qualify, even though the delivery is entirely remote.
