The Software and Ground Solutions group at BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) is looking to expand our team with a talented and energetic software engineer focused on delivering high-quality, embedded satellite software and associated test infrastructure. This position supports a portfolio of software programs. Technology areas include software development integration and test, CI/CD, and Containerization.

The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. Responsibilities

→Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
→May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
→May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
A current, active Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Knowledge of systems engineering roles and functions, including operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition and control, synthesis, and/or verification and validation.
Hands on experience in developing and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines.
Experience in cloud development environments.
Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Ruby.
Experience with Atlassian Tools such as Confluence and Jira.

Nice to Have

Any experience in mission management, command & control, mission data processing, ground terminal and infrastructure domains.
Knowledge of related disciplines in software engineering, hardware engineering, integration, test engineering, quality engineering, configuration/data management.
Any experience with any ground or mission integration including operations readiness activities, rehearsals and launch support activities.
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) SysML diagrams (Block Diagrams, Internal Block Diagrams, State Machines, Activity Diagrams and Sequence Diagrams).
Experience with requirements management tool like Jama or DOORS.
Any experience with satellite operations.
