~1 min readWe are seeking a skilled PLM Server Engineer to support the deployment, maintenance, and ongoing evolution of our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment. Working closely with both internal stakeholders and external vendors, you will help shape and enhance application architecture while ensuring the reliable operation of large-scale, multi-tier enterprise systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of application servers, as well as managing interfaces between application components to ensure seamless system performance. You will contribute to testing activities, defect resolution, patch management, and application deployments across development, test, and production environments.
You will also play a key role in maintaining and enhancing technical documentation and the knowledge base, helping to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will provide timely, accurate, and effective support and feedback to both internal and external customers, ensuring key information is communicated clearly and professionally.
- Working with vendors to support the creation and evolution of the application architecture
- Installation and configuration of application servers for hosting of large-scale multi-tier applications
- Configuration of interfaces between component parts of the application
- Support, enhance and develop the documentation knowledge base.
- Support to testing activities, Defect resolution and patch updates
- Application deployment and support into development, testing, and production environments
- Provide information and feedback to internal or external customers in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner ensuring that key messages are communicated effectively.
Requirements
~1 min read- Proven experience of working in an application installation or support role in either a Windows or Unix/Linux environment
- Experience in IT application infrastructure and hosting
- Installation and configuration of application servers (e.g. Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat)
- Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter would be ideal but not essential
You will be working as part of the Engineering Future Capability team, which consists of 5 professional engineers, supporting and implementing existing and future capability for engineering programmes across the air sector.
The work within the team is very varied and involves constantly evolving workstreams. This also includes additional work streams with major programmes to bolster the currently delivered toolset and provide increased development, release cadence and grow the product set sector wide.
