Intern – Plant Parametric and Automation Model Engineer – Florence, Italy – 2026 (M/F/D)

The Baker Hughes Internship is designed to enable students either pursuing a Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree or recently graduated to gain hands-on work experience as the foundation of their professional lives. You’ll participate in focused training, and team meetings, work on projects, and present your results. During your internship, you will be supported by a buddy and your manager who will ensure you have a valuable learning experience. You can expect to receive coaching and mentoring to enable you to complete assignments and projects to develop your learning and skillset.
You will also have the opportunity to become familiar with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) and culture of Baker Hughes. as well as our strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
During this internship, the candidate will define procedures and methods to increase automation and parameterization in the project cycle, with particular emphasis on data exchange between engineering disciplines and related design tools. This will facilitate the digital control and management of complex industrial plant configurations and accelerate adaptation to different project conditions.
As an Intern, you will be responsible for:
Explore & test the capabilities of Commercial SWs already in BH availability, like AVEVA and NX in parametric modeling set up of Plant, including Vessels & Piping, by usage of script and API.
Working as part of a team and communicating effectively with colleagues, engineers, and supervisors to achieve project goals, and identifying and addressing technical issues or challenges that arise during projects and proposing solutions.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams and interns to interact and network with global business leaders
Learning software to assist with the completion of projects and tasks
Assisting engineers or technologists with ongoing projects by conducting research, data analysis, and providing technical support.
Participating in the design process, creating drawings or prototypes, and contributing to the development of new products or technologies.
Keeping accurate records of experiments, designs, and project-related information, and preparing reports or documentation as needed.
Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance is maintained
To be successful in this role you will:
Be currently enrolled or recently graduated in a Bachelors’ or Masters’ level degree in Engineering, Technology, Mechanics, other STEM-related or business-related program.
Have maintained a GPA grade greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent in your country, with focus in following matters: Fluid Dynamics, Industrial Plant Process, 3D/CAD modeling
Strong interest combined with acquired expertise in 3D modeling Tools & SW like NX and AVEVA e3D, SmartPlant
Strong interest combined with acquired expertise in basic programming (ex. Python)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft widely used tools: Excel, Word, Power Point; copilot.
Proven ability to generate reports and presentations in a clear, concise, and comprehensive manner to share results in short time to leadership
Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills
Be able to legally work in the country that you are applying in, without company sponsorship or time restrictions

The fixed allowance for this position will be between this range: 600 - 1000 € gross monthly.
The allowance will be established in accordance with criteria related to the candidate’s academic status and their distance from the workplace.
