Responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities

  • Support the development and implementation of government affairs and public policy strategies across the Americas region, focusing on the US and Canada.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate legislative, regulatory, political, and geopolitical developments impacting the company's businesses and customers.
  • Assist in developing policy positions, advocacy plans, briefing materials, and strategic recommendations on priority issues.
  • Support regional commercial advocacy efforts by coordinating government engagement related to key business opportunities.
  • Identify emerging policy risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate response strategies.

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with government officials, policymakers, regulators, industry associations, and other external stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in meetings with government officials, trade associations, coalition partners, and external organizations.
  • Coordinate stakeholder outreach and engagement initiatives aligned with company priorities.
  • Assist in planning executive meetings with government officials and key external stakeholders.

  • Develop position statements, briefing documents, and presentation materials.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications and business leaders to ensure consistent policy messaging.
  • Draft internal communications and business updates regarding policy developments and advocacy efforts.

  • Collaborate closely with business leaders, legal, compliance, communications, sustainability, and commercial teams.
  • Coordinate activities with government affairs colleagues across regions to ensure alignment of messaging and priorities.

  • Effective execution of advocacy and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Timely identification and communication of policy opportunities and risks.
  • Strength and quality of relationships with external stakeholders and coalition partners.
  • Successful support of commercial advocacy objectives and business priorities.
  • Delivery of high-quality policy analysis, executive briefings, and advocacy materials.
  • Compliance with lobbying, reporting, and ethics requirements.

  • Based in Washington, D.C.
  • Approximately 10-15% travel within the region.

The annual pay scale for this position is between $161,870.00 - $300,670.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes’ good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including, for example, geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time. Please keep in mind that the range stated above is the full base salary range for the role and does not include other forms of compensation.
