2027 Southeast Asia Trainee Programme
Quick Summary
The Southeast Asia Trainee Programme (“SEA Trainee Programme”) is an 18-month structured programme designed to nurture high-calibre young talent into financial professionals with regional exposure and cross-market capabilities. Through the programme, you will gain deep exposure to both the Hong Kong Headquarters' financial environment and local market dynamics in Southeast Asia.
The journey comprises three stages:
You will acquire professional expertise in the Hong Kong Headquarters' business environment, which will broaden your global perspective and equip you with the skills needed to navigate the complex business market.
You will be assigned to one of our Southeast Asia entities (Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Laos, Brunei and Myanmar) to gain local market insights, thereby building a solid foundation for your long-term career focus and development.
Upon completion of the 18-month programme, your placement will be determined based on a holistic assessment of your overall performance, career preferences, and business needs, either in Hong Kong or in one of our Southeast Asia entities, ensuring the best fit for your professional development.
An experienced business executive will be assigned as your mentor to provide career guidance and help shape your professional aspirations. Your mentor will also help you understand the Bank’s business priorities and strategic direction from a broader perspective to deepen your business insight and supporting your professional growth in the Bank.
