Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Develop, implement and maintain the firm’s enterprise risk management policies, frameworks, risk appetite statements and limits for asset management businesses including mutual funds, private funds, alternative investments, discretionary portfolios and institutional mandates.
- →Oversee risk monitoring of investment portfolios, market risk exposures, counterparty credit risk, liquidity risk, concentration risk and valuation risk; conduct regular risk reviews and stress testing.
- →Lead operational risk management covering compliance, internal control, data governance, cybersecurity, outsourcing and business continuity planning; drive risk culture and awareness across all departments. Identify and control various potential or existing risks at work and report to the General Manager and related parties immediately. Establish corrective measures and follow up.
- →Ensure full compliance with relevant financial regulations, asset management rules and industry standards; liaise with regulators, auditors and external risk advisors.
- →Provide independent risk oversight to investment teams, business lines and senior management; challenge investment decisions, product launches and strategic initiatives from a risk perspective.
- →Report to Risk Committee of the Board of Directors.
- →Assist the General Manager to overview and supervise the work of Legal, Compliance & risk management and Fund Operation management.
- →Establish, sustain and execute an effective monitoring system and procedure, identify potential prejudice to clients quickly, ensure a good corporate governance structure and clear demarcation of responsibilities to protect the best interest of the clients and to prevent error, omission, fraud and other unauthorized activities.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields; CFA, FRM, PRMIA or other relevant professional certifications preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive risk management experience in asset management, investment banking or institutional asset management firms, with at least 5 years in senior risk leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk and operational risk specific to asset management products and investment strategies (equity, fixed income, multi asset, alternatives).
- Comprehensive knowledge of global and local asset management regulatory regimes, fiduciary duties, investor protection rules and risk governance standards.
- Strong strategic thinking, independent judgement and ability to challenge business decisions objectively; excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
