To participate in the day-to-day activities of the Investment Banking division. Gain broad exposure to different types of clients, transactions and focus on specialist areas.
- Collaboration on live deals, client pitches, support the team with advising on a broad range of corporate clients, delivering holistic, structured solutions to deliver on client goals.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
- Participation in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, management of the deployment and launch of new products and services for investment banking.
- Management of client relationships and provision of customer service support to clients and customers, under steadily decreasing supervision, responding to questions about products and services, processing of transactions.
- Development and implementation of financial models and strategies that support in decision making in investment banking. Understand how businesses work and learn from experts in the industry.
- To perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard consistently driving continuous improvement.
- Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise.

In our Country Coverage, Sector and M&A teams the Investment Banking team work to build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies.
As a Banking graduate, you will be working with our Coverage and Mergers and Acquisition teams. Here, you’ll come up with the answers to our clients’ most strategic questions. Advising a broad range of corporate clients, you’ll deliver holistic, structured solutions that help our clients deliver on their goals; whether that’s through mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, structured solutions or risk management.
After several weeks of intensive training to start, you’ll join one of our industry, product or geographic groups and start working on live deals and business development projects right away. Within small deal teams, you’ll quickly play an important role on a variety of demanding assignments.
You may work on:
• Financial analysis and modelling
• Valuation
• Industry research
• Business evaluation and strategic assessment
• Business and idea generation
• External and internal stakeholder communication
To be considered for this programme, you must be motivated and curious with a degree or expected degree, in any area.
Ideally, you will have an interest in business and finance, a good work ethic and be keen to learn and develop your skill set, allowing you to deliver the best products to our client.
This role is regulated by the FCA.
Barclays will accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK and will provide a skilled worker visa for successful applicants if they meet the Home Office’s eligibility criteria for a skilled worker visa. Successful applicants who are not eligible to receive a skilled worker visa, and who we are therefore unable to secure a skilled worker visa for, will be required to have their own legal right to work in the UK on a full-time basis from either February OR July 2027 (the month which will apply to you will be dependent on your chosen intake date) to July 2029.
