Are you someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly? The Bar Harbor Inn and Spa is seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Associate to join our team.

In this role, you’ll support the overall upkeep and functionality of the property, helping ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for both guests and team members. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving and likes working both independently and as part of a team.

This full-time year-round position offers the opportunity to be part of the team at one of Maine’s most iconic oceanfront destinations while helping maintain the property throughout the year.

Responsibilities

→Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the property
→Respond to guest service requests in a timely and professional manner
→Assist with general upkeep, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks
→Support preventative maintenance programs and year-round property needs
→Maintain clean and organized workspaces, tools, and equipment
→Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns
→Assist with groundskeeping and outdoor upkeep as needed
→Work collaboratively with housekeeping and other departments to ensure a smooth guest experience
→Assist with preparing the property for seasonal changes and special events as needed
→Complete additional maintenance and facilities tasks as assigned

Requirements

Prior maintenance or facilities experience preferred, but not required
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repair work
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Success in this role will be measured by responsiveness, quality of repairs, attention to detail, teamwork, and contribution to a safe and well-maintained property.
