Barnes Aerospace West Chester Division has a challenging and rewarding job opportunity for a Quality Engineer. The ideal candidate will integrate new parts into the quality system, working with customers, engineering, manufacturing and the quality department. As well as prepare the First Article and VSE package for Quality Manager and customer review. Responsibilities
~1 min read- Integrate new parts into the quality system, working with customers, engineering, manufacturing and the quality department.
- Plans and execute activities related to the development, application and maintenance of quality standards for processing materials into finished materials or product.
- Prepare the First Article and VSE package for Quality Manager and customer review.
- Work with Purchasing in developing purchase orders with First Article of VSE requirements.
- Develop and analyze statistical data and specifications to indicate present product and process standards and establish proposed quality reliability expectancy of finished product.
- Investigate and provide solutions to problems for processes and product non-conformance.
- Perform quality audits of processes, products and workstations within the Company. Perform quality audits of suppliers and potential suppliers.
- Create statistical quality systems, such as trend analysis to control and/or improve processes.
- Make decisions that could cause/prevent program or product delays and affect costs and overall system quality.
- Previous experience resolving issues in a timely and effective manner.
Requirements

- One+ years of related experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in an overhaul and repair environment.
- Preferred experience in performing audits and being audited.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees, suppliers and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work with team environment.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodology (6-sigma, 5-S, Continuous Improvement) a plus.
- Experience with APQP and PPAP a plus
- Experience with Auto CAD.
- Ability to write, read and speak English.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
- High School diploma required; BA/BS degree preferred. BS degree in a technical field (engineering, manufacturing/industrial technology or 2 years equivalent experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment).
- Statistical Process Control background and familiarity with quality inspection equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
