Responsibilities

→Interpret moderately complex drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied
→Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame cutting operations; set current, amperage, gas pressures and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes for specific job at hand; fit, position, and secure with holding devices
→Perform moderately complex saw operations and painting as required
→Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers
→Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers
→Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions
→Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements
→Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply engineering change request process
→Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
→Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.

Requirements

Must be able to competently perform all level 2 duties.
Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints
Strong grinding knowledge.
Advanced skills in MIG, TIG, and flux core welding
Strong experience with machined part fabrication.
Ability to be versatile and flexible in running open machines.
Communication skills
Interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
Ability to obtain and operate mobile equipment needed to perform essential functions

Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
