Riverhead Tanger Outlet: Assistant Store Manager

This position is for our retail store at Tanger Outlet in Riverhead, NY. The Assistant Store Manager will oversee retail operations to ensure a smooth work environment. This is a non-exempt role and will report directly to the Store Manager. With this role, you will have the opportunity to move up the ranks quickly at that location.

• →Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel.
• →Maintain an up-to-date product inventory sheets and pick lists.
• →Maintain backstock in a neat, clean and organized manner.
• →Interview, select candidates, and oversee a team of retail associates.
• →Create and maintaining the schedule for all retail associates.
• →Delegate responsibilities to retail associates.
• →Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance.
• →Prepare and control the store’s budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency.
• →Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within budget.
• →Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation.
• →Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise.
• →Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays.
• →Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store.
• →Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts.
• →Ensure the store fulfills all safety guidelines.
• →Contribute to a positive work environment.
• →Perform other duties as assigned.

• Proven experience in retail management, with a strong background in sales and customer service.
• Ability to effectively manage cash handling, cash registers, and inventory control.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
• Experience in negotiating with vendors and managing vendor relationships.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment with a focus on customer service and sales growth.
