Security Guard

Bayaud Works manages Emergency Cold Weather Shelters, Micro-Communities, and Migrant Shelters on behalf of the City and County of Denver’s Department of Housing Stability (HOST). Security Guards provide safety and security for shelter guests, staff, and property while upholding Bayaud Works’ mission and Denver HOST operational standards. Security Guards are responsible for maintaining a calm, safe environment, enforcing site rules, and engaging with compassion and professionalism.

• →Experience working with homeless, at-risk, or vulnerable populations preferred.
• →Understanding of trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques.
• →Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• →Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress situations.
• →Comfortable working in diverse environments with individuals of all backgrounds.
• →Must be able to exercise sound judgment and patience when handling sensitive situations.
  
  

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current Colorado State Guard License
• At least 1 year experience as a Security Guard
  
  

• CPR, NARCAN, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), and De-Escalation Training.
  
  

• Must successfully pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check,
• Must pass a physical examination
