As an Intern with Bregante + Company LLP (B+Co), you will gain first-hand experience in public accounting through meaningful participation in a variety of engagements. Working alongside professionals at all levels of the Firm, you will assist with accounting services, tax return preparation and related workpapers, tax consulting and research, and financial statement engagements. Throughout the three-month internship, you will develop practical skills, build professional relationships, and gain experience that can provide a strong foundation for a career in public accounting.


This is an in-office position. The internship is built around hands-on training, direct mentoring, and day-to-day collaboration with our team. Interns are required to work on-site at their assigned B+Co office for the duration of the internship. Working alongside experienced professionals provides opportunities to observe how engagements are managed, ask questions in real time, receive immediate feedback, and build strong working relationships across the Firm.


Essential duties and responsibilities

Tax

  • Prepare federal and state individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns
  • Develop an understanding of federal and state tax laws through practical application and tax research
  • Organize and maintain tax workpapers, client data, and files
  • Manage assigned projects and responsibilities to meet established deadlines
  • Analyze client financial information and supporting documentation to assist with tax return preparation


Accounting & Financial Statements

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and related workpapers
  • Review client balance sheets and income statements for accuracy
  • Develop an understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Assist with financial statement engagements and supporting documentation
  • Identify and communicate potential engagement issues to senior team members
  • Perform basic account analysis and reconciliations to support financial statement engagements

Minimum requirements

To be considered for an internship with B+Co, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in or have completed a bachelor’s degree program or higher, with a major or concentration in accounting, tax, or a related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
