Position Title : Experienced Senior – Audit & Compliance (Quality & Monitoring)
Reports To : Head – Monitoring and Remediation
Primary Purpose of the Role
The Experienced Senior – Audit & Compliance (Quality & Monitoring) is responsible for overseeing the firm’s System of Quality Management System (SQMS), ensuring compliance with international standards such as ISQM 1, ISQM 2 and IFRS, as well as internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on monitoring, remediation, and continuous improvement of audit quality, risk management, and compliance processes to safeguard the integrity and effectiveness of the firm’s internal quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Monitoring
· Monitor compliance with audit engagement requirements in line with ISQM 1 and other applicable standards.
· Assess the effectiveness of the firm’s System of Quality Management (ISQM 2), including risk assessments and conclusions.
· Collaborate with audit teams to ensure adherence to firm policies, audit standards, and regulatory requirements.
2. Risk Management & Quality Control
· Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks related to the firm’s quality management system.
· Apply ISQM 1’s risk-based approach to ensure appropriate controls and corrective actions.
· Implement mechanisms for ongoing evaluation of quality risks, including root cause analysis and remediation.
· Ensure quality management measures are embedded in client acceptance, continuance, and COI procedures.
3. Training & Development
· Design and deliver training programs on ISQM 1 requirements, compliance, and best practices.
· Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement through awareness initiatives and communication.
· Provide guidance to engagement teams on applying quality management procedures effectively.
4. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
· Lead documentation, tracking, and reporting of quality metrics, corrective actions, and improvements.
· Prepare detailed reports for senior management and partners on the effectiveness of the QMS.
· Highlight areas for improvement and recommend corrective measures to leadership and regulators.
5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
· Continuously refine the firm’s quality management processes and audit methodologies.
· Integrate lessons learned from past inspections into the firm’s quality management framework.
· Stay updated on evolving audit quality frameworks and industry developments.
· Contribute to the enhancement of audit quality initiatives and innovation in compliance practices.
6. Key Skills & Competencies
· Strong knowledge of ISQM 1, GAAP, IFRS, and other auditing standards.
· Expertise in risk management, compliance monitoring, and quality assurance.
· Analytical skills for root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
· Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
· Ability to collaborate with audit teams and senior leadership.
· Strong reporting and documentation abilities.
· Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
7. Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or related field (Master’s preferred).
· Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, CIA) is highly desirable.
· Minimum of 4 years of experience in audit, compliance, or quality management.
· Proven track record in implementing and monitoring quality management systems.
· Experience in regulatory reporting and audit quality reviews.
8. Performance Indicators
· Compliance with ISQM 1 and regulatory requirements.
· Effectiveness of monitoring and remediation processes.
· Quality of training programs delivered.
· Accuracy and timeliness of compliance reporting.
· Continuous improvement initiatives successfully implemented.
