Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).

Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues, recommending and overseeing corrective actions.

Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement preventative measures to minimize future occurrences.

Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels, promoting a strong safety culture.

Manage hazardous waste programs, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Oversee industrial hygiene programs, including exposure monitoring and risk assessments.

Collaborate with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into all business operations and projects.

Prepare and submit all required EHS reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.

Manage EHS budget and resources effectively.

Stay current with EHS regulations, best practices, and emerging trends to continuously improve EHS performance.

Act as the primary point of contact for EHS regulatory bodies during inspections or inquiries.
Requirements
~2 min readBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably within the life sciences or manufacturing industry.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification highly desirable.
Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
Proven experience in developing and implementing effective EHS management systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing EHS teams or programs.
Proficiency in EHS software and data analysis tools.
Ability to travel occasionally as required.
