The Staff I Accountant is responsible for supporting both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including expense reporting, capital expenditures, vendor reconciliation, and customer collections. Duties include journal entries, managing accruals and prepaids, assisting with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position ensures timely communication with internal departments and external partners while delivering exceptional customer service. Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Accounts Payable duties
- Expense Reporting including Company Employee Credit Card Program
- Capital Expenditures
- PO and Expense Entry, Review and backup
- Accrued Expenses
- Monthly Reconciliation of Vendor Statements and email blast
- Assist in preparation of ACH/Wire paperwork for payment
- Accounts Receivable duties
- Identify and communicate discrepancies with purchasing and receiving teams
- Customer Collection Calls
- Assist Accounting Clerks to resolve customer payment discrepancies
- Investigate and process credit application requests as well as credit inquiries as needed
- Resale certificate retention and renewals
- Data Entry including general journal entry posting
- Manage Prepaid and Accrual files and entries
- Month end closing procedures and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
- Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers
- All other duties as assigned by Manager
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years of experience
- Attention to details and high level of accuracy in work performed
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Excel, MS Office applications and database systems; Dynamics 365 experience is a plus
- Proficient numeric data entry and typing skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
