Adjunct Professor – Sterile Processing Technician (Part-Time, Evening Shift)

Berkeley College, with campuses located in the New Jersey metropolitan area, seeks highly qualified and motivated instructors to teach within the Allied Health–Surgical Department in the Sterile Processing Technician program.
The ideal candidate will support our vision of becoming the college of choice for students pursuing lifelong success in dynamic careers. The position includes teaching theory and laboratory skill classes at our Woodland Park, Newark, and Woodbridge, New Jersey campuses.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching and advising students
- Improving student outcomes by utilizing a variety of instructional delivery methods, including technology and other innovative approaches
- Maintaining and submitting appropriate individual student records
- Must be able to lift upto 50lbs
- Must be able to maintain classroom and laboratory setting organized after each class session
- Must be comfortable teaching in both classroom and laboratory settings for sessions lasting 2 to 4 hours
- Other duties as assigned.
Hourly Range: $45-$75
Job Requirements:
- Active,non-suspended Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification is required.
- Additional certification such as Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS), Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL), Certified Central Service Vendor Partner (CCSVP) is preferred.
- Individuals must have a minimum total of three years of experience, either in the Sterile Processing Technician profession, as a Sterile Processing Technician instructor or a combination of both.
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build successful relationships with student populations, are also required.
