Senior Planner

BGE is seeking a Senior Planner to join our Planning + Landscape Architecture Studio in Houston.  Our team consists of smart, fun and talented individuals who work together in a collaborative environment.  Candidates should be highly motivated and enthusiastic with strong design, graphic and communication skills.

• →Conduct complex project research and review local development codes and regulations

• →Conduct land use and site analysis

• →Oversee the preparation of base maps and project graphics to support the planning process

• →Oversee the development of conceptual plans, master plans, and lotting studies
• →Oversee the preparation of zoning applications and development guidelines
• →Oversee the preparation of general plans and subdivision plats
• →Coordinate with clients and other consultants
• →Coordinate with local governmental agencies
• →Represent clients at public meetings
• →Assist with special planning projects as directed by leadership
• →Mentor less experienced team members
• →Prepare project proposals and contracts
• →Oversee monthly billings and A/R
• →Participate in business development activities

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or related field
• AICP Certification strongly desired
• 8-12 years of demonstrated work experience
• Solid understanding of planning principles, practices & techniques
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS, & Adobe Suite software
• Creative problem solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet firm deadlines
