Reporting into the Collaborative Contracting Center of Excellence, the Project Coordinator, Lean Construction - Corporate provides analytical, administrative, logistical, and project coordination support to the Collaborative Delivery team. Working closely with Collaborative Delivery Specialists and project teams, this role helps ensure workshops, planning sessions, training initiatives, and project support activities are delivered efficiently and consistently across the organization.

The Coordinator plays a key role in organizing resources, coordinating communications, maintaining tools and documentation, and supporting the successful execution of collaborative delivery and Lean construction initiative supporting projects and pursuits. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, relationship-building abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional internal client service. Occasional travel to project sites and other offices may be required.

This role provides an opportunity to develop facilitation, Lean Construction, and collaborative delivery skills while supporting some of Bird's most innovative projects and pursuits.

Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Facilitation Support

  • →Coordinate and support collaborative delivery workshops, pull-planning sessions, Big Room meetings, project kick-offs, and lessons learned activities.
  • →Manage workshop, training and information sessions logistics and documentation.
  • →Track project commitments, action items, and key deliverables while building positive relationships across multi-company project teams.

Lean Construction & Continuous Improvement

  • →Support the implementation of Lean Construction and Collaborative Delivery practices by assisting with performance tracking, lessons learned, continuous improvement initiatives, Pull Planning and the sharing of best practices.

Reporting, Resources & Knowledge Management

  • →Maintain collaborative delivery tools, templates, training materials, and project resources while supporting the development of reports, dashboards, presentations, and other project and training documentation.

Training & Capability Development

  • →Coordinate onboarding, training, and knowledge-sharing activities that support Collaborative Delivery capabilities across Bird.
  • →Develop facilitation, collaborative leadership, and Lean Construction skills by working with Collaborative Delivery and Lean Specialists and through participation in project workshops, planning sessions, mentorship, and hands-on learning opportunities.

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Thrive in a dynamic work environment, anticipating needs, anticipating needs and manage details effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and pivot between multiple initiative
  • Demonstrated curiosity and interest in Lean Construction, collaborative delivery models, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint as well as other collaboration tools

It would be an asset if the candidate had the following experience:

  • Undergraduate degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in construction, engineering, project management, business, or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of coordination, construction, operational improvement, or facilitation experience.
  • Familiarity with project controls, scheduling, planning, or performance reporting.
  • Have a genuine interest in collaborative delivery and a desire to grow their facilitation capabilities.
