Bird Construction is seeking a Civil/Concrete Quality Coordinator to support quality assurance and quality control activities on the Advanced Nuclear Materials Research Centre (ANMRC) project. This role will ensure civil and concrete construction activities comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and quality requirements.

This position is located in Chalk River, Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Construction Inspection and Test Plans (CITPs).

  • Ensure applicable codes, standards, specifications, and contract requirements are incorporated into quality plans.

  • Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, concrete mix designs, procedures, and quality records.

  • Coordinate inspections, testing activities, and quality documentation.

  • Support Non-Conformance Report (NCR) management and corrective actions.

  • Work with construction, engineering, subcontractors, and inspectors to ensure quality requirements are achieved.

  • Assist with audits, surveillance activities, and turnover documentation.

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.

  • 3+ years of QA/QC experience in civil, concrete, heavy industrial, infrastructure, or nuclear construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • CSA A23.1 / A23.2

    • CSA A23.4

    • CSA N299 / N286 considered an asset

  • Experience with ITPs/CITPs, NCR management, and construction quality documentation.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Security Clearance Requirement

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Status or Site Access Security Clearance.
