  Inference systems are being rebuilt quickly. Agentic workloads are changing what traffic looks like, and serving architectures are being redesigned around disaggregation, tiered caching and large MoE models. Many of these ideas look strong on paper; far fewer hold up on a real fleet.

  This role is both research-heavy and implementation-heavy. You will follow the frontier of inference systems research, decide what matters for our workloads, and build it into our serving stack as measured, system-level improvements, designing new approaches where existing ones fall short. We expect results strong enough to ship and to publish.

  Your work is driven by the Lab's research agenda, in close collaboration with the AI Cloud platform team who own the production serving stack. Depending on background, the role can be filled as a Research Scientist or a Research Engineer; both are expected to do research and to write the code that ships it.
  The team is based in Singapore and the US, is international, and works in English.
