BKF is hiring a Construction Inspector to execute onsite construction inspections to ensure the project is being constructed in compliance with the contract requirements and applicable permits.

Responsibilities

General

→Inspects and reports on a variety of construction projects
→Advises Resident Engineer or Agency Project Manager and informs contractors of any variances from approved plans and specifications
→Takes samples of materials, prepares test specimens, and assist in conducting field tests, or refers samples for laboratory analysis
→Checks the location of public utilities to avoid interference with construction work
→Checks roadway/slope/structure grades, flow lines, and locations of structures
→Reviews contractor’s traffic control plans and field traffic control; review project safety
→Inspects earthwork grading, placement of asphalt concrete, proportions, and control of mixes
→Inspects delivery, placing, and curing of concrete and the placing of reinforcing steel
→Assists PM in review of project submittals, RFI’s, CCO’s
→Verifies acceptability of material incorporated into the project by Certificates of Compliance, shop drawings, test reports
→Maintains material and inspection records
→Maintains a daily diary, photo log, contract item quantities
→Other duties as assigned

Requirements

College degree or minimum 5 years’ work experience with Transportation or Civil related projects
4 + years of experience in the supervision or inspection of engineering construction work including reading and interpreting complex construction plans and specifications

Valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driver’s record are required

ICC Reinforced Concrete Inspection Certification
ICC Masonry Inspection Certification
ICC Welding Inspection Certification
ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade 1 Certification
Qualified SWPPP Certification
Fall protection Safety Training
First Aid & CPR

✓The typical base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 annually, depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location, hourly wage
