SITE SUPERINTENDENT – INFRASTRUCTURE

Location: North America – Project Based

Travel: Extensive / Extended Field Deployment

Employment Type: Full-Time

BUILD BIG. OWN THE SITE. DELIVER THE PROJECT.

BlastOne is looking for an experienced Site Superintendent to take field leadership of major industrial equipment installation and construction projects across North America.

This is not a desk-based construction management role.

You will be BlastOne's senior representative on site, deployed to major projects for several months at a time and responsible for driving the day-to-day execution of the work.

You will coordinate subcontractors, BlastOne technicians, mechanical and electrical trades, equipment installation, site logistics, safety, quality and schedule. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will be the person on the ground who knows what is happening today, what needs to happen next, what is standing in the way and what we're doing about it.

If you are an experienced industrial construction leader who likes being in the field, solving problems and taking ownership, this could be an outstanding opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As Site Superintendent, you will:

  • Serve as BlastOne's senior day-to-day representative on the project site.
  • Lead and coordinate BlastOne personnel, subcontractors, technicians and other trades.
  • Own day-to-day field execution and keep the project moving safely and efficiently.
  • Own and maintain the rolling 2-3 week field look-ahead schedule, ensuring manpower, materials, equipment, access and predecessor activities are ready before work begins.
  • Coordinate structural, mechanical, electrical, controls and equipment installation activities.
  • Hold subcontractors accountable for manpower, productivity, quality and schedule commitments.
  • Lead daily and weekly field coordination and planning.
  • Identify constraints and problems early and drive them through to resolution.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, equipment layouts, specifications and 3D/BIM models.
  • Coordinate with BlastOne engineering, controls and equipment specialists when additional technical expertise is required.
  • Manage site logistics, equipment deliveries, staging, lifting and installation sequencing.
  • Maintain strong safety and quality standards across the jobsite.
  • Complete accurate daily reports, progress documentation, photographs, RFIs, observations and punch lists in Procore.
  • Recognize changed conditions, additional scope and potential schedule or cost impacts and document them appropriately.
  • Support equipment startup, testing, commissioning and final project turnover.
  • Maintain a professional, solutions-focused relationship with our customers, general contractors and project partners.

YOU'LL OWN THE SITE. THE PROJECT MANAGER OWNS THE PROJECT.

We believe in clear accountability.

The Project Manager retains responsibility for the overall project, including the customer contract, commercial management, budget, master schedule, change orders and overall project performance.

The Site Superintendent owns field execution.

That means subcontractor coordination, daily production, the 2-3 week look-ahead, work sequencing, site logistics, field safety, installation quality, field documentation and the immediate customer/site interface.

We don't want a Superintendent waiting for someone in an office to tell them what to do next.

We want someone who sees problems coming, develops a plan and gets the right people moving.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You will likely have 7+ years of experience in industrial construction, commercial construction, heavy construction, industrial equipment installation or a related field.

More important than a specific job title, we're looking for someone who can demonstrate that they have successfully led people and subcontractors in the field.

You should have:

  • Strong construction and field leadership experience.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and trades.
  • A solid understanding of mechanical and electrical construction.
  • The ability to read construction drawings, specifications and equipment layouts.
  • Experience developing and executing short-term construction schedules and look-ahead plans.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety and quality.
  • Good computer and technology skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The confidence to communicate effectively with tradespeople, subcontractors, engineers, customers and senior management.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to solving problems.
  • The ability to stay organized and positive when projects get difficult.

Experience with Procore, AutoCAD drawings and BIM/3D models is highly desirable.

Experience with industrial equipment installation, manufacturing facilities, shipyards, blast and paint facilities, mechanical systems, electrical systems, controls, commissioning or other technically complex industrial projects would be particularly valuable.

A Construction Management or Engineering degree is beneficial, but we also highly value candidates who have developed their expertise through substantial hands-on construction and field experience.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES REAL TRAVEL

We want to be very clear about the travel expectations before you apply.

Our Site Superintendents are deployed to their projects.

A typical assignment may mean living near the project site for several months through installation and commissioning before moving to another project.

This is not a weekly fly-in/fly-out position.

While deployed, BlastOne provides one company-paid travel weekend per month, allowing you to travel home or to another destination of your choice within the North American continent, coordinated around project requirements.

Between project assignments, you may return home before your next deployment.

If you need to be home every weekend, this probably isn't the right role.

If you enjoy being embedded with a project, building relationships with the team, taking ownership of the site and seeing a major industrial project come together from the ground up, it could be exactly what you're looking for.

WHO SUCCEEDS AT BLASTONE

We're looking for someone who:

  • Takes ownership – if something needs to happen, you make sure it happens.
  • Plans ahead – you're thinking about next week while executing today.
  • Solves problems – you bring solutions, not just problems.
  • Holds people accountable – directly, professionally and respectfully.
  • Builds teams – you get subcontractors, technicians, engineers and customers working toward the same objective.
  • Stays positive under pressure – construction projects get difficult; your leadership matters most when they do.
  • Communicates clearly – no surprises and no ambiguity.
  • Is technically curious – you don't need to know everything, but you want to understand how the system goes together.
  • Represents the company professionally – on site, you are the face of BlastOne.

WHY BLASTONE?

BlastOne delivers large, technically complex blast and paint facilities and industrial equipment systems for some of North America's most significant shipbuilding and industrial customers.

These aren't small projects.

You'll work alongside engineers, project managers, controls specialists, technicians and construction partners to deliver equipment and facilities that can involve major structural, mechanical, electrical, ventilation, material handling and controls systems.

You'll have the opportunity to take genuine ownership of the field, solve complex construction challenges and see the physical results of your work.

THE BOTTOM LINE

We're looking for someone who wants to run the site, not watch the site.

Someone who can walk a project in the morning, understand where every major workstream stands, get subcontractors aligned, remove roadblocks, keep the customer informed and make sure tomorrow's work is ready before today is finished.

If that sounds like how you operate, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply to join BlastOne's Infrastructure team and help us deliver the next generation of major industrial facilities across North America.
