What We Offer
~1 min readJoin our team as a contracted Life Skills Trainer and make a difference in the lives of students with disabilities ages 16–22. You will provide practical life and employment-readiness skills training through Bloom Consulting’s Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program.
Your role will focus on empowering students with the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to prepare for life after high school and future employment.
This is an independent contractor position with Bloom Consulting and is not employment with the school or school district.
- Have a bachelor’s degree.
- Have experience working with students with disabilities.
- Are available Monday through Friday.
- Are able to complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Have strong communication and organizational skills.
- Are able to successfully complete required background screening.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Providing individual and small-group instruction to high school-aged students with disabilities.
- Teaching practical life skills and employment-readiness skills using curriculum provided by Bloom Consulting.
- Engaging students in activities designed to build independence, confidence, and workplace readiness.
- Interacting with students, teachers, school staff, and Bloom Consulting staff in a professional manner.
- Ensuring the safety and appropriate supervision of students during service times.
- Completing required documentation forms accurately and in a timely manner.
- Tracking student attendance for each day of service.
- Maintaining materials provided by Bloom Consulting for use throughout the school year.
- Submitting required documentation according to Bloom Consulting procedures and deadlines.
- Following the curriculum and instructional materials provided by Bloom Consulting.
- Preparing for scheduled lessons and activities.
- Communicating student needs, concerns, progress, and relevant updates to your supervisor.
- Maintaining applicable receipts for clients and providers.
- Reviewing paperwork to ensure completion and accuracy.
Services will be provided in the Isle of Wight County / Chesapeake area.
- Days: Monday–Friday
- Hours: Approximately 10–20 hours per week
- Contractors Needed: 2
- Compensation: $25–$30 per hour
- Travel: Travel reimbursement may be available as part of the contract.
