Position Purpose:  The Test Engineer II has the responsibility of supporting test engineering tasks associated with the development, qualification, and acceptance testing efforts of components and/or spacecraft systems. This engineer would be working in a team environment, sometimes with remote team members, engaging in test and support of flight spacecraft electronics. This engineer would be interacting directly with flight hardware electronics in a lab environment. Development work will span test procedure development, writing automated test scripts, test equipment design, and executing tests using aerospace standard approaches.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000

(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

On-site position at our Boulder, CO location. Hybrid options available. (work locations are subject to change based on business need).

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Work in a fast-paced team environment  
  • Support the integration and test of components and/or spacecraft systems 
  • Write, review, update, and implement test procedures 
  • Use test and measurement equipment to perform advanced tests/ troubleshooting on hardware 
  • Execute, develop and modify test scripts  
  • Maintain required test engineering logs and records 
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule (with possible support on nights & weekends) 
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department as well as other departments at the company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned 

 

Required Qualifications/Education: 

  • Experience with hardware testing using oscilloscopes, multimeters and logic analyzers 
  • Experience with writing and executing manual and/or automated test procedures 
  • Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, Ruby (COSMOS), and/or Python or similar 
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and to be a self-starter 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering 
  • 2+ years of experience in Test Engineering or a related field 
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education 

 

Desired Experience: 

  • Experience with spacecraft level system integration and test 
  • Experience with embedded software 
  • Experience with radiation testing of electrical components (TID, SEE, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of control systems and orbital mechanics 
  • Knowledge of environmental testing: Thermal, TVAC, Vibration, Shock, EMI


Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.  However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.
