BlueDot Staff is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the accounting operations of a fast-growing U.S. legal services organization.

This is a hands-on position for a professional with strong experience in general ledger accounting, multi-entity financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls and U.S. GAAP.

Our client is a rapidly growing U.S. legal services provider supporting a workforce of more than 600 professionals across multiple entities and service lines.

The accounting environment is high-volume, fast-paced and highly visible to senior leadership. The company values professionals who take ownership of their numbers, maintain a high level of accuracy and continuously improve processes while managing their daily responsibilities.

The client's identity will remain confidential during the initial stages of the recruitment process.

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financial statements.

This professional will manage general-ledger activities, support monthly and year-end close and prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and reports for leadership, lenders and external auditors.

The Senior Accountant will also help develop and document internal controls, accounting policies and procedures to ensure reliable financial reporting as the organization continues to scale.

The position requires daily collaboration with operations, accounting, payroll and external stakeholders, including auditors and financial institutions.

Responsibilities

Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements across multiple entities;

Deliver consolidated close packages to leadership according to the established closing calendar;

Manage general-ledger activities and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records;

Support and execute monthly and year-end closing processes;

Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports;

Establish, document and maintain internal controls, accounting policies and procedures;

Contribute to the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes;

Prepare supporting schedules and explain actual financial results against forecasts and budgets;

Research accounting matters to ensure compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;

Support the implementation of new accounting standards when required;

Analyze and report cost variances;

Collaborate with operations, payroll, leadership and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve accounting issues;

Provide trained cross-coverage for Billing, Cash Application and Accounts Payable during absences and peak periods;

Maintain appropriate segregation of duties, with payroll processing remaining under the Accounting Manager;

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls and reporting quality.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent practical experience;

Five or more years of progressive accounting experience;

Public accounting experience or equivalent experience managing the close process within a multi-entity corporate accounting environment;

Advanced knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;

Demonstrated experience with general-ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting and month-end close;

Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup and index functions and formula-driven reconciliations using large data sets;

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;

Proven ability to collaborate with operations, payroll and external stakeholders;

Strong organizational skills and consistent follow-through on commitments;

High level of integrity, discretion and professionalism;

Fluent English, C1 level or higher, for meetings, written communication and interaction with U.S. stakeholders;

Must currently reside in Brazil;

Ability to work remotely with autonomy, accountability and consistent availability.

Active CPA license or current CPA candidacy;

Hands-on NetSuite experience within a multi-entity environment;

Previous public accounting experience;

Experience supporting a U.S.-based organization;

Experience working within a rapidly growing or high-volume accounting operation.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

High-performance computer or notebook;

Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, Apple M1 or higher, or equivalent;

Minimum of 12 GB of RAM;

Stable high-speed internet connection, with a minimum recommended speed of 50 Mbps for download and upload;

Professional headset;

Two monitors;

Quiet, private and structured remote-working environment.
