What We Offer
~1 min readBlue Engine is an education nonprofit focused on ending long-standing patterns of disproportionate student outcomes by shifting the paradigm of “typical teaching.” We partner with schools, districts, and states to strengthen educators’ ability to ensure that all students—can access and engage in grade-level learning every day.
Compensation varies based on the type of engagement, required expertise, geographic market, scope, and available project funding. Depending on the work, compensation may be structured as:
-
Teacher development
-
Instructional leader development
-
Systems-level consulting
Across our partnerships, we prioritize high-quality instructional materials, inclusive instructional practices, educator collaboration, and the systems and conditions required for strong implementation.
Blue Engine is building a network of experienced independent consultants who can complement our internal team with specialized expertise and flexible program support. Consultants may be engaged to support projects across three broad areas:
-
Professional learning and Facilitation
-
Instructional Coaching and Implementation Support
-
Strategic and Systems Advising
Depending on the project, this work may also include program or product design, research and analysis, and other specialized support.
Engagements may range from a single deliverable or professional learning session to a series of facilitation, coaching, design, or advisory activities over several weeks or months
For each engagement, Blue Engine and the consultant will agree on a project-specific scope of work defining the services, deliverables, timeline, fee structure, and points of collaboration.
Blue Engine may consider consultants for one or more of the following areas based on their experience and the project’s needs.
-
Internalize, contextualize, and facilitate professional learning for teachers, instructional coaches, and school, district, or state leaders.
-
Adapt existing Blue Engine content to partner context while maintaining the goals and integrity of the learning experience.
-
Prepare, calibrate, and reflect with the Blue Engine project team to strengthen delivery and respond to participant feedback.

Provide individual or group coaching for teachers, instructional coaches, and school or system leaders.
-
Support educators in using data, high-quality instructional materials, and inclusive practices to increase students’ access to grade-level learning.
-
Conduct observations, learning walks, or implementation reviews and help partners identify strengths, barriers, and next steps.
-
Provide specialized thought partnership on instructional improvement, implementation strategy, leadership development, or systems change.
-
Facilitate planning with school, district, or state leaders and advise on the conditions and supports required for strong implementation.
-
Contribute specialized expertise to research, program or product design, emerging partnerships, proposals, pilots, or other strategic priorities.
