At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

As a Construction Project Manager, you will own the delivery of capital construction projects on the new Hutto campus from design handoff through closeout and occupancy. You will be accountable for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety across general contractors and specialty trades, and you will be the single point of accountability to Blue Origin stakeholders for your projects. You will lead a site team that includes a Construction Superintendent, Project Engineer, and Project Administrator.

Blue Origin is standing up a new campus in Hutto, Texas (Constellation Park). The Facilities Construction team delivers the buildings, infrastructure, and site work that let our programs build and fly hardware. This role is based on site in Hutto and will be part of the team that takes the campus from ground-up construction through occupancy, working alongside Facilities Engineering (planning and design), Facilities Operations, Security, IT, EHS, and the programs moving into the space.

Responsibilities

·       Lead ground-up and tenant improvement construction projects through preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

·       Own project budgets and forecasts; review and approve pay applications, change orders, and contingency use.

·       Build and manage integrated project schedules; identify critical path risks and drive recovery plans.

·       Manage general contractors, design-build partners, and specialty subcontractors to contract requirements.

·       Partner with Facilities Engineering and design consultants on constructability, value engineering, and design changes.

·       Coordinate permitting and inspections with the City of Hutto, Williamson County, utilities, and other authorities having jurisdiction.

·       Drive a zero-harm safety culture in partnership with EHS and the Superintendent; enforce site safety plans.

·       Lead OAC (owner-architect-contractor) meetings and report status, cost, and risk to Blue Origin leadership.

·       Coordinate with IT, Security, Facilities Operations, and the receiving programs to plan turnover, move-in, and occupancy.

·       Ensure complete closeout: punch lists, O&M manuals, warranties, as-builts, and lessons learned.

·       Support procurement of construction services, including scopes of work, bid leveling, and contract recommendations.

Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

·       8+ years of commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction project management experience.

·       Demonstrated delivery of large, multi-trade projects (e.g., manufacturing, warehouse, lab, or office buildings) on schedule and on budget.

·       Working knowledge of construction contracts (GMP, lump sum, design-build), change management, and cost control.

·       Experience with building codes, permitting, and inspections.

·       Strong communication skills with the ability to lead contractors and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

·       Ability to work on an active construction site and travel to other Blue Origin sites as needed.

·       Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired

·       PMP, DBIA, or CCM certification.

·       Experience delivering industrial or manufacturing facilities with process utilities (compressed air, process cooling, specialty gases, high-bay cranes).

·       Experience with new-campus or greenfield site development in Central Texas.

·       Familiarity with Procore, Primavera P6 or MS Project, and Bluebeam.

·       OSHA 30 certification.
