This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Primary responsibility: Full ownership of New Glenn Stage One structural component design
- →Develop, release and maintain a full CAD and drawing engineering definition package.
- →Prioritize and drive procurement activities to support vehicle build schedules.
- →Provide engineering support to production and integration.
- →Support integrated test objectives, data review and reporting
- →Identify concepts for New Glenn upgrades and improvements.
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Interest in aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structural design.
- Familiarity with structural analysis techniques and fundamentals (Statics, Mechanics of Materials).
- Familiarity with material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques.
- Proficient in mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
- Familiarity with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
- Familiar with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.41.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Experience with Creo (Pro/E) and Windchill
- Experience performing detail part and assembly design with airframe structure.
- Experience with FEA analysis codes: Nastran, ANSYS, Optistruct, LS/Dyna. Experience running structural and thermal analysis models.
- Production support experience with primary structure airframe assembly.
- Material Review Board certification for dispositioning non-conformances with primary structure airframe assembly.
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices, airframe manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes, and quality control.
- Experience with Optimization and DOE methods as applied to design, analysis, and testing.

- Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
- Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
