Position Overview

The Producer is responsible for driving new business growth by proactively calling on business owners and soliciting the Agency’s services. This role is focused on building relationships, generating opportunities, and closing new and renewal business.

To support success, BME Commercial Insurance provides advanced software tools designed to:

  • Identify renewal dates
  • Provide accurate prospect contact information
  • Organize and manage deal flow
  • Increase the likelihood of successful conversions

The Producer’s primary objective is to gather all necessary underwriting information so the back-office team can deliver competitive insurance quotes. Required documentation includes completed applications, copies of current policy documents, loss runs, and supporting documentation as needed.

The Producer is also responsible for presenting and selling both New Business and Renewal Proposals. Success in this role is defined by securing client commitments, binding policies, and ensuring payment is received.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and contact business owners to generate new opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Collect required documentation for quoting and underwriting
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely proposal delivery
  • Present and explain insurance proposals to prospective and existing clients
  • Negotiate terms and overcome objections
  • Close sales and ensure policies are bound and paid
  • Maintain organized records of pipeline activity and client interactions

 

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven negotiation abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to overcome obstacles independently and collaboratively
  • Effective time management and ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and email
  • Strong comfort level with technology and CRM/software systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with all individuals
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

 

Benefits

  • Health Insurance: 50% employer contribution after 2 months of employment
  • 401(k): 100% match on the first 3%, 50% match on the next 2% Available after 3 months of employment
  • Car Allowance: $500 per month once $1,000,000 of new business is produced within a fiscal period
  • Cell Phone Reimbursement: $75 per month (unless company phone is provided)
  • Paid Time Off: 10 PTO days after 60 days of employment
