Building Operational Technology Integration Specialist  (Senior or Lead)

Boeing’s Enterprise Services Technology & Systems (ESTS) organization is currently seeking a Building Operational Technology Integration Specialist  (Senior or Lead) to join our Building Operational Technology team. This is primarily a remote position, with domestic travel to our site locations required up to 25% of the time, including but not limited to Arlington VA, Huntsville AL, Mesa AZ, North Charleston SC, Plano TX, Renton WA, Puget Sound WA, or Wichita KS. Our team is open to a broad range of experience levels including Level 4 and Level 5 Specialists to find the best fit for the position.

You will be a key contributor to building and advancing the Operational Technology (OT) team, responsible for integrating systems, platforms, and data that support critical industrial and infrastructure systems. You will fulfill a broad range of responsibilities that are expected to change and evolve often as the Operational Technology landscape continues to develop. The ability to adapt and innovate within complex operational environments is paramount to being successful in this role.  

• →Build processes, standards, and operational frameworks from the ground up  

• →Assesses current Operational Technology systems for compliance with IT and OT cybersecurity standards and regulations  

• →Support technical troubleshooting and remediation for Building Management Systems / Building Automation Systems, including controllers, field devices, sensors, and system integrations 

• →Analyze and resolve Building Management System alarms, faults, and abnormal conditions; determine root cause (software, hardware, instrumentation, network) and implement corrective actions to reduce nuisance alarms and false trips 

• →Support alarm rationalization and tuning of fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) rules, applying the enterprise alarm and fault priority standard to improve signal quality and reduce operator workload 

• →Evaluate integrations between Building Management Systems and enterprise systems (Information Technology interfaces, fault management, analytic platforms, and Computerized Maintenance Management System) to ensure reliable data flow and operational visibility 

• →Support nationwide rollout and integration of the enterprise Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) platform for building and infrastructure monitoring; analyze configuration and connectivity issues and coordinate fixes with the site teams, integrators, and vendors 

• →Facilitate discussions and meetings to address IT compliance requirements and operational needs, to include forecasting of new systems or enhancements and upgrades of existing systems  

• →Troubleshoot industrial communication networks and protocols (BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet/IP) including use of network analyzers and diagnostic tools 

• →Assist with the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including integration specifications, as-built configurations, and site onboarding records 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher  

• 5+ years of experience with Operational Technology

• 5+ years of experience in Real Estate, Facilities Operations and/or Facilities Management 

• Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data, then summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources 

• Experience developing and managing internal processes and procedures 
• Domestic travel up to 25%

• 10+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with Operational Technology, industrial control systems, and relevant IT and OT frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443, ISO 27001) 

• Experience in facilities Operational Technology (OT) systems, industrial control systems or facilities maintenance systems  

• Experience with SCADA and HMI platforms such as ICONICS GENESIS64, Niagara Framework, or COPA-DATA zenon 

• Experience with major Building Automation System vendor platforms (e.g., Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens Desigo, Honeywell, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure) 

• Experience with fault detection and diagnostics (FDD), alarm management (e.g., ANSI/ISA-18.2), or building analytics platforms 

• Experience with cybersecurity principles specific to OT environments, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies  

• Experience with multi-site programs and demonstrated ability to lead initiatives across geographic locations  

• Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and project management tools (e.g., Wrike, Microsoft Project, Jira)
