A Physical Therapist Assistant - PTA provides physical therapy services to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. Services are provided under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with physician orders, the established plan of care, and applicable state and federal regulations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide physical therapy treatments as delegated by the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.

  • Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, balance activities, and other interventions outlined in the plan of care.

  • Observe, document, and report patient responses and progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety techniques as directed by the Physical Therapist.

  • Participate with all other home healthcare personnel in patient care planning and interdisciplinary communication.

  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies and Medicare guidelines.

What we're looking for:

  • A passion to serve and help others live their best lives possible.

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

  • Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state in which practicing.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Two (2) years of experience preferred in a home health setting.

  • Knowledgeable and experienced with Medicare home health documentation requirements.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and patient education skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
