A growing property restoration company in Northern Virginia is seeking an experienced Water Mitigation Division Manager to lead its water mitigation operations.
This position is responsible for the overall performance of the water mitigation division, including team leadership and development, project execution, operational efficiency, customer and carrier relationships, quality control, and profitability.
The ideal candidate brings strong water mitigation and restoration experience along with proven leadership skills. This person should understand the technical side of water mitigation while also being able to lead a team, solve complex problems, manage competing priorities, and drive strong operational and financial results.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing water mitigation team while creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- →Oversee the launch, execution, and profitable completion of emergency water mitigation projects.
- →Manage and delegate day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are properly staffed, scheduled, documented, and completed according to established standards.
- →Monitor active job sites to ensure safety compliance, quality control, proper documentation, and consistent execution.
- →Serve as the primary point of resolution for complex situations involving property owners, insurance carriers, adjusters, vendors, and field team members.
- →Communicate and negotiate effectively with insurance carriers, local adjusters, desk adjusters, and program specialists.
- →Partner closely with estimating, reconstruction, and administrative teams to maintain strong communication and ensure smooth project handoffs.
- →Monitor operational performance and help drive the profitability and ROI of the water mitigation division.
- →Identify opportunities to improve workflows, field productivity, documentation, customer experience, and overall operational efficiency.
- →Utilize restoration technology platforms to streamline scheduling, documentation, communication, and project tracking.
- →Embrace new technology, including AI and automation tools, to improve efficiency and accuracy across the division.
- →Provide ongoing coaching and identify real-time training opportunities for field team members.
Requirements
~1 min read- Proven experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced restoration or emergency-services environment.
- Strong background in water mitigation and water damage restoration, with a thorough understanding of the water mitigation process from initial response through project completion.
- Experience overseeing field operations and multiple active mitigation projects.
- Strong understanding of water extraction, structural drying, moisture monitoring, equipment utilization, documentation, and industry best practices.
- Experience working with insurance-related property losses and communicating with insurance carriers and adjusters.
- Proficiency with Xactimate and Symbility estimating software.
- Experience working across restoration job-management, documentation, scheduling, and project-tracking platforms.
- Strong understanding of operational performance, job costs, labor and equipment utilization, and project profitability.
- Exceptional leadership, critical-thinking, problem-solving, organization, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and empathetically with customers, team members, and insurance professionals.
- High level of comfort with technology and the ability to quickly learn and utilize multiple software platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- IICRC water mitigation certifications are preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Northern Virginia service area.
