Box is looking for visionary technical leaders for our engineering teams in Warsaw, who will lead, inspire, and mentor engineers, while bridging communication between the US and Poland engineering hubs, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. The engineering manager role at Box involves spearheading significant technology initiatives, overseeing the entire lifecycle of projects across multiple architectural layers. Your knowledge can be vital for improving Box product and solving exciting challenges related to Cloud Content Management.
- Ideally, you have over 2 years of experience as a software engineering manager, leading teams responsible for high-scale production services.
- You possess at least 5 years of professional software development experience, contributing to the development of full-stack web applications and/or distributed systems.
- You excel at aligning and executing new technical ideas, demonstrating an understanding of best practices.
- Proven experience in driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment.
- A people-oriented leader, capable of modelling and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
- Exceptional at communicating, passionate about technology and committed to raising the bar.
- Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones is advantageous.
- Proficient in English.
Nice to Have

Responsibilities

- →Develop team members through 1:1s, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring.
- →Uphold values by building a collaborative, inclusive team focused on customer impact.
- →Cultivate a culture of excellence through emphasis on execution, quality, and scale.
- →Organize stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and manage sprint task statuses.
- →Collaborate with product teams to scope new features, provide project estimates, and inform quarterly commitments.
- →Work with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to ensure the team delivers significant business impact.
- →Manage and coordinate the team’s on-call rotation to ensure timely and effective incident response, actively participate in escalated on-call incidents to provide leadership and support, and drive improvements by addressing recurring issues to minimize disruptions.
- →Represent Box internally and externally.
- Passion for building distributed systems for large-scale, high-volume applications.
- Dedication to solving complex problems using data-driven solutions.
- Belief in deploying all infrastructure as code.
- Ownership mentality, striving for work that you are proud of, both technically and in team interactions.
