Position Summary
Oversees all jobsite activities, maintains productivity, and provides a safe work environment. Coordinates schedules and supervises employees and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, coordinate, and supervise craft workers and subcontractors
- Determine work priorities and coordinate activities to maintain efficient workflow
- Enforce contract requirements and jobsite safety; conduct regular safety meetings
- Coordinate with owners and design teams; serve as on-site liaison
- Manage materials, deliveries, staging, and storage; maintain tool/equipment inventory and security
- Write and submit detailed daily reports; communicate progress to the office
- Hold weekly coordination meetings addressing schedule, manpower, safety, and materials
- Maintain overall schedule and short-interval schedules; drive schedule adherence
- Lead quality control and ensure compliance with plans/specs/codes; coordinate inspections and testing
- Track labor productivity; manage company and rental equipment for cost and productivity
- Accurately code and submit time; coordinate closeout and punch list completion
- Collaborate with Project Manager; mentor and evaluate subordinate staff
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a construction superintendent or similar field leadership role
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising multiple subcontractors and trades
- Experience mentoring or supervising field personnel
Work Environment / Travel
Field-based position; travel to project sites as needed; work in active indoor/outdoor construction environments.
