Brave is hiring 2 Software Engineer interns this fall from Waterloo University to assist adding AI, security and privacy features to our products. 

Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of data-intensive systems and AI-powered services. 

• →Build and maintain ETL pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and loading structured and unstructured data across internal systems
• →Develop backend services and tooling in Python and TypeScript to support data processing workflows and API integrations
• →Integrate and optimize LLM inference pipelines, including prompt engineering, model serving, and evaluation of large language model outputs
• →Deploy and manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes, including writing manifests, configuring autoscaling, and troubleshooting cluster issues
• →Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality, pipeline reliability, and system observability

• →Prototype, implement, and ship privacy-enhancing features end-to-end in C++ or Rust for the Brave browser
• →Build browser-native privacy protections privacy-enhancing permissions and anti-fingerprinting defenses
• →Navigate and contribute to an extremely large, complex codebase, applying knowledge of the Web security model and Chromium's architecture
• →Work with Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to develop and validate browser features
• →Collaborate async with a geographically-distributed, open source team using Git and GitHub

Contribute to the design, development, and shipping of privacy and security features in the Brave browser (based on Chromium), bringing cutting-edge protections to 115M+ users without breaking the Web.
