About the Operations Manager, Facilities & Building Management Role:
BRIC seeks an Operations Manager, Facilities & Building Management to oversee the day-to-day facilities operations across BRIC House, 75 Rockwell, and additional sites. Reporting to the Associate Director, Operations, this role supervises custodial and public safety staff, coordinates with external vendors and the facilities management company, and ensures BRIC's venues remain safe, clean, and operationally ready to support the organization's programs and events.
What You’ll Do in the Role:
The Operations Manager, Facilities & Building Management will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their manager, the Associate Director, Operations:
Facilities & Building Operations
- Support day-to-day facilities operations at BRIC House, 75 Rockwell, and additional sites ensuring buildings are clean, safe, and operationally ready
- Serve as the primary internal point of contact for facilities needs across BRIC staff and stakeholders
- Track work order requests and conduct weekly check-ins with the external facilities management company
- Operate the on-site BMS (Building Management System) and respond to building issues as they occur
- Identify facility issues and coordinate vendor responses for routine repairs and maintenance within established procedures
- Ensure physical plant, infrastructure, and equipment support the robust calendar of internal and client based live events
Custodial & Public Safety Team Coordination
- Supervise the Senior Public Safety Officer and Building Custodians; coordinate custodial and security schedules across BRIC venues
- Ensure custodial coverage for events, programs, and daily operations in coordination with the Operations Manager, Events & Revenue
- Oversee the Fire Warden program and ensure compliance with building safety procedures and policies
- Coordinate with public safety staff to maintain a safe environment for staff, artists, and visitors
Access, Compliance & Vendor Coordination
- With oversight from People & Culture, manage building access at 647 Fulton and 75 Rockwell for staff, vendors, and visiting artists
- Support compliance with health, safety, and building code requirements across all venues
- Coordinate with vendors for routine maintenance, repairs, and building services within approved scope
- Maintain documentation related to facilities operations, safety incidents, and access logs
You’ll Bring these Skills and Strengths to the Role:

- Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus 4+ years in facilities management, building operations, or venue operations
- Working knowledge of building systems, BMS operation, fire safety, and health and safety compliance requirements
- Experience supervising custodial, public safety, or other building operations staff
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate vendors, track work orders, and manage multiple facility priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and ability to serve as a reliable point of contact for staff, vendors, and partner organizations
- Communication & Relationship Building: An emotionally intelligent, values- and results-driven leader who can inspire staff and collaborate across departments and at all levels of the organization
- Commitment to Equity & Inclusion: Brings experience operationalizing equity within the operations
Other Things to Know:
- Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $50K-$60K.
- Status and location: This is a full-time, exempt role based in our Brooklyn office.

BRIC currently pays 100% of the premium for employee medical, dental and vision coverage starting on the first of the month after 2 months of employment.
