A bit about this role
Brightside is looking for a Product Manager to own and drive client engagement across our client application and digital experience. This role is central to how we help clients take action to improve their financial health. You will focus on turning moments of need into sustained engagement, designing experiences that guide clients toward the right decisions while working seamlessly with our Financial Assistants (FAs). You will lead the evolution of our client app, communication channels, and engagement journeys, ensuring clients not only access support but also act on it.
What you’ll work on
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for Brightside’s client app and digital engagement experience
- Design and optimize client journeys that drive activation, engagement, and follow-through on financial actions
- Build experiences that bridge digital and human support, enabling seamless collaboration between clients and our Financial Assistants
- Define and implement engagement loops (notifications, messaging, prompts, follow-ups) that drive ongoing behavior change
- Partner with design, engineering, data, and operations to deliver high-quality, client-facing experiences
- Use data, experimentation, and user insights to continuously improve engagement, conversion, and outcomes
- Translate ambiguous ideas into clear product direction, scoped initiatives, and shipped features
- Define success metrics and track performance across client activation, engagement, and retention
- Drive measurable improvements in how clients discover, understand, and act on financial options
What makes you a success
- 6+ years of product management experience, with a strong track record of owning and delivering complex, user-facing products
- Proven experience building and scaling consumer-facing or engagement-driven products, ideally in mobile or digital platforms
- Demonstrated ability to own a product area end-to-end, from problem definition through execution and iteration, with minimal oversight
- Strong product judgment with the ability to make high-quality tradeoffs in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Experience driving user engagement, activation, and behavior change, with clear examples of measurable impact (e.g., improving conversion, retention, or usage)
- Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels — setting direction while also ensuring high-quality delivery
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills; able to align and influence engineering, design, data, and business stakeholders without direct authority
- Experience using data, experimentation, and user research to inform decisions and validate hypotheses
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to drive clarity, structure thinking, and communicate decisions effectively to leadership
- Experience in fintech, health, or service-driven products is a plus, especially in environments combining human and digital experience
- You are deeply focused on the user and their behavior, not just features
- You think in terms of journeys and outcomes, not just screens and flows
- You know how to drive engagement, not just build functionality
- You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and bringing structure and clarity
- You balance data with empathy — understanding both what users do and why
- You take ownership and push work forward, even without perfect information
