Invoicing & Revenue Coordinator
Quick Summary
If you're early in your accounting career and want to understand how a real operating business makes money, not just how to enter transactions after the fact, this is a great place to learn.
If you're early in your accounting career and want to understand how a real operating business makes money, not just how to enter transactions after the fact, this is a great place to learn.
Broadway Refrigeration is one of the Lower Mainland's established mechanical contractors, working across HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, construction, retrofit and service. We're growing, we're busy, and we're looking for someone smart, organized and ambitious to join our finance team.
This role starts with invoicing and revenue administration, but there is plenty of room to grow from there.
You'll work directly with work orders, projects, contracts, technicians, project managers and customers. You'll learn how labour and materials turn into revenue, how jobs are costed, why margins move, how billing affects cash flow, and how the operational and accounting sides of a construction company fit together.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and process customer invoices across service, maintenance and project work
- Review work orders, labour, materials, purchase orders and supporting documentation before billing
- Work with operations and project teams to resolve billing questions and keep jobs moving
- Assist with contract and progress billing
- Learn job costing, revenue recognition and work-in-progress concepts
- Support accounts receivable and collections
- Help identify completed work that is ready to invoice
- Maintain accurate customer and job documentation
- Take on additional accounting and finance responsibilities as your experience grows
Who We're Looking For
You're detail-oriented, curious and comfortable asking questions. More importantly, you want to understand why you're doing something rather than simply processing what's put in front of you.
A diploma or degree in accounting, finance or business is an asset. If you're working toward your CPA, or think you may want to, even better. There is significant practical accounting experience available here for someone who wants to learn.
Experience in construction, mechanical contracting, service, project accounting or invoicing is helpful, but we're equally interested in someone bright and motivated who can learn quickly.
Why Broadway?
This isn't a narrow accounting role.
You'll be sitting inside a fast-moving operating company where finance interacts constantly with dispatch, technicians, purchasing, project management, sales and senior management.
For the right person, invoicing can be the starting point, not the destination.
If you want exposure to revenue, job costing, WIP, accounts receivable, project accounting and the commercial side of construction, there is a lot to learn here and room to move as you prove yourself.
